The Joy of Creating!

All too often we allow petty little things to upset us. We are often too ready to think that the upset came from another source and fail to look at our own cause.

But the hard, cold truth of the matter is that no one ever instructed you to become upset. You were the one who decided to get angry … to feel impatient … to shout or to cry!

That was all your own doing!

You only become upset from the moment you make the decision to be so. That is the moment you drop responsible for the feelings you are experiencing. Unfortunately, you can never blame another person as the cause of how you feel! Ron has much to say on this subject.

“Anything for which the individual feels any misemotion – antagonism, anger, fear, grief, apathy – is something for which he has not accepted responsibility.

And there is misemotion only when an individual refuses to accept responsibility in that sphere of action.

He can control anything for which he has accepted the full responsibility.

He is unable to control that for which he has not accepted responsibility.”
DIANETIC AUDITOR’S BULLETIN. February 1952

“The idea is not to prove one can experience, but to regain the ability to experience.

Thus, today, we have two golden rules for happiness:

    1. Be able to experience anything;

                  and

    1. Cause only those things which others are able to experience easily.

Your reaction to these tells you how far you have yet to go. And if you achieve these two golden rules, you would be one of the happiest and most successful people in this universe, for who could rule you with evil?”
An excerpt from the book – New Slant on Life – LRH

“Your self-determinism and your honour are more important than your immediate life.”
THE CODE OF HONOURP.A.B. No. 40 – 26 November 1954

“One can only be self-determined when one can observe the actual situation before one; otherwise a being is delusion-determined or other-determined.”
HCOB 6 NOV 64

“When you start to consider it very, very serious, you’re on your way down … Serious goes down into accident band – upset, mistakes and so forth.”
THOUGHT EMOTION & EFFORT – Lecture 7 – CAUSE & EFFECT

“You want to know what seriousness is?  Seriousness is solidity.  You ever hear of a ‘solid citizen”? You want to get something done, don’t get any of these serious boys. … But if you want to get something done, don’t have anything to do with them.”
PDC LECTURES – DISK 26 – FLOWS: CHARACTERISTICS OF

“The ability to assume or to grant (give, allow) beingness is probably the highest of human virtues. It is even more important to be able to permit (allow) other people to have beingness than to be able oneself to assume it.”
P.A.B. No. 83 – THE CONDITIONS OF EXISTENCE – 8 May 1956

“Happiness and strength endure only in the absence of hate. To hate alone is the road to disaster. To love is the road to strength. To love in spite of all is the secret of greatness. And may very well be the greatest secret in this universe.”

    1. Ron Hubbard – From CERTAINTY – March 1966

“There’s nothing succeeds like insouciance. (carefree, unconcerned, light-hearted) Plain flippancy will actually get more done in less time than anything else you can name.  That’s the funny thing, isn’t it? It’s not serious.”
